2014 EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT TOOL DIAMETER ON FREE FORM SURFACES MACHINING WITH B-SPLINE CURVE

To increase machinability of free-form surface which is used extensively in design is the main aim of this study. Free-form shapes play an important role in the shipbuilding, automotive, aerospace and architectural industries to manufacture aesthetic, ergonomic and aerodynamic products. Although the products that possess free-form surface have many advantages, it is difficult to machine of these. This situation make the studies on this area actual. In this study, The curve which generate with B-Spline mathematic was drawn by MATLAB. The surface was formed by using this curve with Solidworks. B-Spline tool path was generate to machine this surface. The effect of different tool to surface machining was searched on this surface.
